STATEMENT OF FAITH

1) We Believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and the inerrant Word of God. 2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Pet. 1:21
2) We Believe in the deity of Christ, John 10:33; His virgin birth Is. 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:34-35; His sinless life Heb. 4:15, 7-26; His miracles John 2:11; His vicarious and atoning death 1 Cor. 15:3, Eph. 1:7, Heb. 2:9; His resurrection John 11:25, 1 Cor. 15:4; His ascension to the right hand of the Father Mark 16:19; His personal return to earth in power and glory Acts 1:11, Rev. 19:11-16
3) We Believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are not unto the resurrection of damnation John 5:28-29.
4.) We Believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life Rom. 8:13-14; 1 Cor. 3:16, 6:19-20; Eph. 4:30, 5:18.
5) We Believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Gen. 1:1; Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; John 10:30.
6) We Believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of the human nature, and that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God’s grace through faith alone are we saved John 3:16-19; John 5:24; Rom. 3:23, 5:8-9; Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:5
7) We Believe in the spiritual unity of the believers in our Lord Jesus Christ Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:12-13; Gal. 3:26-28.
8) We Believe that we as Christians are examples of the love of God in this world. It is this love that we desire to possess and without which we have no right to call ourselves Christians 1 John 4:16-17.

REQUIREMENTS TO SERVE

1) Your personal relationship with Jesus Christ should be the highest priority in your life and kept with utmost diligence by regular Bible reading, prayer, and fellowship with the church.
2) Working in any ministry of The Rock CC, you will be expected to abstain from all substance abuse (1 Tim. 3:3).
3) Your speech must be edifying. Gossip, slander, and cursing are not acceptable (Eph. 4:29-31).
4) Your appearance reflects not only you as an individual, but the church as well. Although Calvary Chapels are known for their “casual” atmosphere, we expect everyone to take pride in their appearance and to strive to have a positive image when representing the church and the Lord. We ask that clothing be modest, clean, and appropriate. We should never dress in a manner to draw attention to ourselves, or that may cause a brother or sister in Christ to stumble in their Christian walk (Rom. 14:13; 1 Tim. 2:9).
5) Your life ought to reflect the life of Christ as you seek to live according to scriptural principles, demonstrating moral purity and Christian ethics (Eph. 4:17-5:21).
6.) Your life ought to reflect the life of Christ in sexual purity. Scripture defines sexual impurity as any kind of sexual intimacy or sexual misconduct outside of the boundaries of marriage, such as premarital sex, extramarital sex (adultery), homosexuality, and pornography (Rom 8:8, 13; 1 Cor. 6:16; Eph. 5:3; 1 Thes. 4:3-7; 1 Tim. 3:2; 2 Tim 2:21; Heb. 13:4).
7) As a volunteer in any ministry of the Rock CC, we expect you to be dependable and responsible in your service by keeping your commitments to the people you serve and the team members with whom you serve (Col. 3:23; 1 Tim. 4:15-16). I understand that I represent Jesus Christ and The Rock CC in my involvement with this ministry. I am prepared to temporarily remove myself if one of these areas becomes an active problem in my life that could undermine my witness and damage the organization’s reputation. I understand that I will be interviewed by a ministry leader before I am approved for ministry service.
